Scholarship Information

 

There are  a large range of scholarships available. Some are based on academic achievement, others based on personal qualities such as leadership potential and community involvement, others are available to rural and remote students, and there are some scholarships offered for specific courses or areas of study.

We encourage you to spend time researching these during the year, as the application process may start prior the 'end of the year'.

Other scholarships can be applied for once tertiary studies have commenced. VTAC course applicants are automatically considered for some scholarships.

The CEF Guide includes a wide variety of scholarships which range from a $500 textbook or accommodation grant up to $50,000 per year for education and living costs.

Macpherson Smith Rural Foundation

Selection criteria include

  • demonstrated leadership capacity / potential
  • desire to return to rural Victoria after graduation
  • previous community contribution

Scholarships are also available for TAFE and apprenticeships.

Selection is largely based on personal qualities and demonstrated leadership as well as academic ability.  Preference is given to applicants with aspirations to enter actively into the Australian political field, public affairs, community service or any other such activity considered beneficial to Australia.

Rural Pharmacy Scholarship scheme

 

The Scheme has been established to provide financial support to encourage and enable students from rural and remote communities to undertake undergraduate or graduate studies in pharmacy at university. Applications for 2019 opens in October 2018 

 


 

Royal Flying Doctor Service   

 

RFDS Victoria is working to overcome shortages of medical and healthcare professionals in rural and regional Victoria.

One way of achieving this is by encouraging young health students from country Victoria to complete their studies and return back to the country to assist improve Victoria's health.

 

The Give Them Wings Scholarship is designed to aid students by assisting them with their study costs. Up to five scholarships are available for first year nursing and allied health students. Applications for 2019 not yet open.

Horizon Scholarship  

 

To be eligible for the Horizon Scholarship students must be an Australian citizen or permanent resident entering their first year at an Australian University (with a maximum two year gap between high school and tertiary study), studying a degree related to agriculture.  Applications open in January 2019

 


 

Bendigo and Adelaide Bank is committed to supporting young people through various initiatives, including our annual scholarship program. Each year scholarships are awarded to first year tertiary students studying at an Australian university or college campus for the first time.

 

Our scholarship program makes a significant difference to these hard working and talented students by helping them cover some of the costs of tertiary education.

Gardiner Foundation

$10,000

successful applicants will be

  • pursuing a career that will either directly benefit the dairy industry / dairy communities
  • commencing their first year of full time tertiary study : TAFE or University
  • required to move away from home to take up their chosen course.
