There are a large range of scholarships available. Some are based on academic achievement, others based on personal qualities such as leadership potential and community involvement, others are available to rural and remote students, and there are some scholarships offered for specific courses or areas of study.
We encourage you to spend time researching these during the year, as the application process may start prior the 'end of the year'.
Other scholarships can be applied for once tertiary studies have commenced. VTAC course applicants are automatically considered for some scholarships.

The Country Education Foundation Scholarships Guide is a comprehensive list of tertiary scholarships developed for rural and regional students.
The CEF Guide includes a wide variety of scholarships which range from a $500 textbook or accommodation grant up to $50,000 per year for education and living costs.

Rural Pharmacy Scholarship scheme
The Scheme has been established to provide financial support to encourage and enable students from rural and remote communities to undertake undergraduate or graduate studies in pharmacy at university. Applications for 2019 opens in October 2018
Royal Flying Doctor Service
RFDS Victoria is working to overcome shortages of medical and healthcare professionals in rural and regional Victoria.
One way of achieving this is by encouraging young health students from country Victoria to complete their studies and return back to the country to assist improve Victoria's health.
The Give Them Wings Scholarship is designed to aid students by assisting them with their study costs. Up to five scholarships are available for first year nursing and allied health students. Applications for 2019 not yet open.

To be eligible for the Horizon Scholarship students must be an Australian citizen or permanent resident entering their first year at an Australian University (with a maximum two year gap between high school and tertiary study), studying a degree related to agriculture.
