LOTE Japanese

Japanese is the foreign Language offered at Timboon from prep to Year 12. Students begin their study in Prep to Grade 6 for one semester each year. In year 7 and 8, LOTE is compulsory and becomes an elective from years 9 to 12. There is a focus on developing speaking, listening, reading and writing skills.

In this subject students learn Japanese language and culture through songs, games and activities, food and cooking, seasonal festivals and special Japanese events. Students are introduced to the scripts of Hiragana, Katakana and Kanji characters.
